sugary beverages

Sugar has proven to be a leading culprit in the battle against weight gain. Instead of quenching our thirst with water many of us turn to soda, energy drinks or juices high in sugar content. Yet a simple change in our diet such as replacing a soda with a cold glass of water could have wondrous, positive effects on our physiology and well-being.

Will you challenge yourself to drink only
water for ten, twenty or thirty days?

We all know people who exercise vigorously several times a week, but still complain they can’t lose or maintain a healthy weight. Often it’s because they’re consuming too many bad calories high in sugar. It’s a shame to see such hard work and dedication negated by an addiction to sugar. Take the ‘no sugar’ challenge. Start reducing your sugar intake by replacing your sugary drinks with water. You can also pay closer attention to food labels and the amount of sugar in the foods you eat. You’ll be amazed at how much sugar is in some of your favourite snacks and meals.

I use myfitnesspal to monitor calories, sugar, fat and carb intake. Myfitnesspal or similar apps can help you set weight goals by suggesting a daily calorie intake to lose or maintain an ideal weight. It allows you to scan thousands of food barcodes and instantly learn their calorie and nutritional value. Therefore helping you make more informed decisions on the foods you consume. I suspect you’ll be quite surprised to learn the amount of sugar contained in the foods we eat and drink.

Will you take the ‘no sugar’ challenge? What do you have to lose?
