Aromatherapy is one of the country’s fastest growing industries. With the popularity of new age activities such as yoga on the rise, aromatherapy appears to be here to stay for the foreseeable future. In fact, it is one of the most popular holistic and alternative medicine practices.

Introduction to Aromatherapy

It is used everywhere, from clinics and hospitals for pain relief treatment, particularly during labor and chemotherapy, to the rehabilitation of patients with heart ailments, to the alleviation of stress and muscle relaxation in day spas, to the production of beauty and cosmetic products. You name it, and aromatherapy has had an impact on it in some way.

But, aside from the candles, lotions, and scents that define aromatherapy to a T, what is it all about and what can it offer us?

Aromatherapy is the practice of extracting oils from plants and using them for medicinal, relaxing, and aromatic purposes. These oils are known as essential oils, and they are used in the production of perfumes, lotions, and other beauty, skincare, and hair care products.
