Are you passionate about creating an amazing life for yourself and others? We’d love to hear about your experiences! For us, the best articles combine an element of story-telling about yourself and with practical information that can positively impact reader’s lives. As our name implies, we focus on three core topic areas:

  • Healthy Mind is about optimizing your mental processes. Examples would include but are not limited to: Personal Development, Practical Psychology, and Lifestyle Design.
  • Healthy Body is about putting your body in a condition for optimal functioning. Example topic areas include: Sleep, Nutrition, Fitness, and Yoga.
  • Healthy World is about ways to fix society’s largest problems, primarily focusing on ecology. We strongly prefer articles advocating positive, specific solutions.

Before Submitting:

  1. Please Edit Your Work. Your article should be ready to publish in terms of grammar and readability. Yes, we may potentially do some minor edits as well, but you are the primary editor of your work. If you have grammar questions, you may find Medium’s Style Sheet useful.
  2. Cite Your Images. Include at least one image in your article. If you do not own the image, include a link to where you obtained it (ie. a Creative Commons image site). We retain the right to remove images from submissions and replace them with those our editors pick.
  3. Set a Featured Image. All submissions should have a featured image below the title. You want to select an image that represents and brings attention to your article. Follow these instructions to set an image as the featured image.
  4. Keep Your Author Byline Short. We will only publish author bylines one to two sentences in length. You may include one or two text links to promote your brand. Excessive links or non-text elements, like email signups boxes, will be removed.
  5. Include a Short Call to Action. After your author byline, include a one sentence call to action to encourage readers to clap for your article so that more people will see it.
  6. Add Tags. You want to add relevant tags to your article. In the upper right corner, click the downward arrow to the right of the word ‘Publish.’ For the first tag, type in either Healthy Mind, Healthy Body, or Healthy World. These tags control where your article will appear inside of our publication. Then add four more tags based on whatever your article is specifically about. These additional tags will help Medium target the appropriate audience for your article.

IMPORTANT — DO NOT CLICK THE PUBLISH BUTTON YET. We only review unpublished drafts. This enables us to get your article the maximum amount of exposure when we do publish it. This also helps us to correctly time our social media campaign to get the word out about your article via our network.

Submit Your Draft to Us:

  1. If you haven’t been published with us before, please fill out our Article Submission Form. If we like your article, we’ll add you as a Writer here at Healthy Mind / Body / World.
  2. Once you are one of our writers, go to your draft article in Medium and click the button with the three dots in the upper right hand corner. Click ‘Add to Publication.’
  3. A new menu will appear. When it does, click the radio bullet next to ‘Healthy Mind / Body …’. We’re the one with the picture of the tiny rocket ship launching.
  4. Click ‘add Draft.’ This submits your draft to us so we can do the final review and then publication. Do Not Click the Publish Button. We publish the article on your behalf via our magazine.

We’re excited to hear from you! If you have any further questions, we can be contacted here.
