Gifting healthy treats to our friends and family is a quite common norm during festival times! Here’s one such recipe of Elaichi Granola Bar (cardamom flavored granola bar) that is not only simply delicious and easy to make but will definitely help & motivate your loved ones to make healthier choices during the festive season.

Why is it healthy?

  • Nuts and seeds added in the recipe provide good fats essential for cognitive function. They are rich sources of protein, fibre and other essential vitamins and minerals like zinc, magnesium, selenium etc.
  • Oats are whole grains rich in beta-glucan fibre content. They are also rich in minerals like zinc, magnesium and B vitamins. Consumption of oats on a regular basis helps to improve heart health, maintain a healthy weight and also manage blood sugar levels
  • Dates not only act as a sweetener in this recipe but are also rich sources of fibre, antioxidants and minerals like iron, potassium, magnesium, manganese, copper and vitamin B6

Elaichi (cardamom) granola bar is a good choice for someone who is looking to gain weight. Healthy individuals or people who are looking for healthier sweet alternatives can make this recipe as a part of their dessert during the festivities or otherwise as a snack too. However, it is important to maintain portion control. Feel free to add in nuts and dry fruits of your choice.

⏳ Preparation Time: 30–35 minutes

🍽 Serves: 1

🥗 What you’ll need:

  • Oats- 1 cup
  • Raisins- 1/4 cup
  • Walnuts (chopped)- 1/4 cup
  • Elaichi or cardamom powder- 1 tablespoon
  • Butter- 2 to 3 tablespoon
  • Dates (chopped)- 7–8
  • Honey- 2 tablespoon

✋ Method:

  1. Firstly, heat butter, soft dates and honey in a pan until the butter melts and begins to boil. This mixture should form a dough like consistency.
  2. Combine all the dry ingredients in a bowl, add this mixture onto the dry ingredients and mix well until everything is well coated.
  3. Add this mixture into an aluminum foil and tightly wrap the foil in the shape of a bar. Set it to chill.
  4. Once the bar is set, cut it into small shapes. You can use cookie cutters for this too! Elaichi granola bar or cardamom flavored granola bar is ready. Yum! 😋
