Traveling for a holiday or on work? Looking for a snack recipe which you can carry when you are traveling? Our next recipe is about a healthy biscuit which has wheat flour and vegetables. You can prepare this a day prior to your trip and carry them along with you.

What are good about these biscuits?

  • These biscuits are made from whole wheat flour unlike the biscuits made from refined flour or maida. Whole wheat are not refined and contain essential vitamins, minerals and fiber.
  • The ingredients used for this recipe are easily available in your kitchen pantry and refrigerator.
  • Low fat curds are used to make the dough and they are a rich source of calcium and proteins. The fat content is lower than full fat curds.
  • Vegetables like carrots and beetroot have been used and they are rich in fiber, vitamins and minerals.
  • Green peas used in these biscuits are a rich source of proteins ,fiber, vitamin and minerals.
  • The spices added to these biscuits make them tasty and flavorful.
  • These biscuits just need a tablespoon of oil, are baked and not fried. Sounds healthy, right?

These biscuits are handy when you are traveling for work or a holiday or on a road trip.

These veggies biscuits can be had by people who want to lose weight or maintain healthy weight. People with high cholesterol, high blood pressure can have these too. But remember moderation is the key.

You can make these for your children too. These biscuits can be made and stored in an airtight container and can be had as evening snacks. But try to consume them in a day or two as fresh vegetables have been used in these biscuits.

Recipe:

Preparation time — 20 min

Cooking time — 30 min

Serves — 2 to 3

Ingredients —

Whole wheat flour — 1 cup

Grated beetroot — 2 tbsp

Grated carrots — 2 tbsp

Green peas (boiled & mashed) — 1/4 cup

Low fat curds — 1/4 cup or less (depends on how much you require to make the dough)

Chat masala — as required

Red chilli powder — as required

Turmeric powder — ¼ tsp

Coriander cumin powder — ½ tsp

Oil — 1 tbsp

Baking soda — 1 tsp

Salt to taste

Preparation -

  • Preheat the oven at 180 deg C for 10 minutes.
  • Take a mixing bowl and add all the ingredients . Add curds and knead a dough.
  • Roll the dough into a big circle.
  • Using cookie cutters, cut into various shapes.
  • Spread them on a baking sheet line with parchment paper. Bake them for 15 to 20 minutes at 180 deg C.
  • After 15 minutes on the timer, check if the biscuits are done. Use a toothpick to check if it comes out clean.
  • Store them in an airtight box after it cools down.
