Looking back at Healthy Worker’s 2017
We are barely into the new year, and already we’re working hard to realise our new goals and ideas. The Healthy Workers team leaped into 2018 with an enthusiasm that would put a smile on any employer’s face. Our eyes are set on the horizon, however we want to take a brief moment to reflect upon the past year. Here’s an overview of what we were up to in 2017!
We built our product
Let’s start big, and kick this list off with something that we are immensely proud of: the successful build of our product. We moved from the drawing table to the work floor, the inbox and the web browser. We became ready to measure, analyse, inform and even entertain. All with the ambition to identify problems in the work environment and improve employee well-being.
Check out our product video, which visualises the on-boarding of employees and ease in which employers and employees can interact with our product.
The launch of a new website
And what is a new product without a new website? (Yes, we know, we don’t even need to get into that). So, we rolled up our sleeves and created a brand new website, which we’re certain you’ve already paid a visit to. Right? ;-)
Our clients and projects
After running a pilot for the “Let it Grow” incubation programme, we ran a pilot at IBM — of whom we are now a Global Partner. The past year we’ve worked hard for the health and happiness of roughly 750 employees spread over 5 large corporate organisations. We’ve run (and are still running) trajectories for clients such as UWV and Royal FloraHolland.
The opportunity to grow
Around the end of August, we closed our first funding round, raising half a million euros in growth capital. An achievement that gave us the opportunity to make 2017 a year of improvement, development, and growth. The investment was made by the following six investors:
- Cairn Real Estate
- VIE Tech Capital
- Ditt Officemakers
- Flilo b.v.
- Fonk.amsterdam
- Interstuhl
Many new faces
The investment resulted in a rapid growth of the team. These are the people that joined Healthy Workers in 2017!
We also said goodbye to some amazing people, who finished their projects for Healthy Workers in 2017. We want to thank Mylene van der Koogh, Valentino Cremona and Irene Frietman for their invaluable contribution.
Our partners
And of course, our year would not have been the same without our partners:
Acquiring and sharing knowledge in Silicon Valley
What’s a year without a trip? That’s what our co-founders thought as well. But, instead of taking a holiday they hopped on a plane together to visit the San Francisco Bay Area. They devoted seven days to learning from the frontrunners in employee well-being such as Facebook, Google, Dropbox and LinkedIn. Many insights and takeaways were derived from these visits. However, it was not a one way street; Healthy Workers was able to impart its knowledge in return! Here you can read more about the main outcomes from the trip.
Practice what we preach
Another goal for 2017, was practicing what we preach. As a team, we worked hard on our culture, physical and mental wellness at work. From sports workshops to team drinks and pool competitions; from daily standups and office push-ups to happiness surveys. We always aim to make sure we are all happy, comfortable and healthy. And we feel we did a pretty awesome job — it’s kind of our thing ;-).
Check out some picks from our team activities to get a glimpse behind the scenes.
New office space
With a bigger Healthy Workers family, we also needed a new office space. Thus, we moved to the brand new B. Amsterdam building, B.3 — located at the Johan Huizingalaan 400. Here we work in the midst of both inspiring startups and corporate companies. Soon we will move to our new healthy office on the fifth floor (we’re now on the second), which is big enough for our continuously growing team.
Our goals for 2018
It was a year to remember. In 2018 we’ll focus on the further development of our product and the scalability of both our product and organisation. It is going to be a ‘test year’ in which we will run projects at 10 corporate organisations. Interested in a Healthy Workers trajectory at your company?
