Unprecedented growth: Reminiscing about 2018 and a glance at what’s to come in 2019
After some ultimate highs last year, we felt like dedicating some words to the amazing 2018 we shared. And of course, we won’t leave you hanging — we’ve got an outlook on the upcoming year!

So here it goes — 2018’s biggest milestones:
Our product is validated!
First and foremost, this was the biggest accomplishment of 2018. After a pilot phase with:
- 6 participating companies
- 723 participating employees
- 579 happiness check-entries
- and 94 environmental sensors placed
the Healthy Workers solution is validated! We want to give a big thanks to our clients who trusted us during this process.
A fruitful collaboration with Schiphol Real Estate
Schiphol Real Estate is always looking for new, innovative propositions for their tenants and employees. That’s why they organized the Healthy Office Challenge in the spring of last year: through an online platform, health startups could apply to contribute to a healthy working environment with their solution.
With more than 50 submissions from a wide range of smart solutions, Healthy Workers and uHoo (environmental sensor deliverers) were chosen as the winners! We started a pilot at the Schiphol Group offices to help them create healthy and productivity-boosting work environments.
We are very proud to tell you that Schiphol Real Estate is now one of our clients!

Since Healthy Workers grew as a company, the team grew with it. These are the latest additions to our team!
Practice what you preach
As Healthy Workers strives to create happy and healthy workplaces all around the world, we think it’s fundamental to start in our own office. This year, we introduced the Healthy Challenges (think: daily green juices, vegetarian week and a planking competition — believe us, this was pretty hard for some people ;-)).
We accomplished quite a lot last year, and we think it’s important to celebrate such successes — in this case with a champagne breakfast! And to keep growing as a team, we enjoyed activities such as pub quizzes, karaoke nights, dinners and Friday drinks.
A great collaboration with Holland ConTech & PropTech
Holland ConTech & PropTech supports organizations that are, or want to be, leaders within technology, open innovation and digital transformation. We are incredibly happy to collaborate with them, not only because we share ideas with founder Wouter Truffino and Hans Dijkstra, but they also help us grow our network.
Besides this, we got the opportunity to give keynote speeches at several events, including the biggest Dutch PropTech event of the year. Not to mention, we hosted a Round Table at the Online Global PropTech Conference (Google was a guest!). Last month Holland ConTech & PropTech even interviewed our co-founder Boy Lokhoff for about our future plans. Listen to the podcast to hear all about it! (in Dutch)
We were present at the Expo Real in Munich
In October we were selected to go to the leading real estate event Expo Real in Munich. Here, we shared the Holland Metropole stand with 4 other PropTech companies.
Holland Metropole is an alliance between Amsterdam, Rotterdam, The Hague, Utrecht and Eindhoven and the top tier of Dutch real estate development and investment managers in real estate. They selected us as the start-up representing Amsterdam, in consultation with Wouter Truffino from Holland ConTech PropTech, to join them in Munich during the Expo Real!
€1.5 MLN in funding raised
We’d like to finish by announcing another massive success of 2018: we’ve ended the year with €1.5 million in funding!
Our news got picked up by more than 40 national media outlets and even some (prominent) international ones. We want to give a special thanks to our investors: Cairn Real Estate, Dura Vermeer, Impact Vastgoed, Eddy Smit (CEO of MVGM), VORM ontwikkeling, Velto, Ditt Officemakers, Alexandre Janssen, Wendy van Ierschot (VIE TECH), Andre Haardt (founder of Squla) and Flilo. And of course to our amazing team — without them, this wouldn’t have been possible.

A glance of what to expect in 2019
It’s probably hard to top 2018, but we’re definitely going to try. And since we are already 3 weeks into the new year, we have some cool things to share.
More substantial growth
Since raising funds, we haven’t been sitting around doing nothing; quite the opposite! Here are two new projects we’ve been busy with:
Pharos: Pharos is on a mission to make their office building the healthiest working environment in Europe. We are very proud to help Cairn Real Estate in realising this. With 25.000 m2 of space, this will be quite the project, and we are really excited to help make their mission a reality!
Schiphol Real Estate: The baseline measurement is a fact. We compared offices in the terminal and offices in Schiphol’s main building. Schiphol is now getting ready to test healthy workplace solutions based on our research results. After the implementation of these solutions, we will measure the impact.
Keep an eye on us, because there are many more updates to come this year!
An even bigger team

A new website
Since we left the pilot phase behind us, we thought it was time to give our website a face lift. So expect a fresh look from us in the coming months!
A new office space
With a growing Healthy Workers team, it’s also time to upgrade our office (again ;-)). We just moved from our office in B.2 to a 200 m2 (!) office in B.1 Amsterdam — back where it all started. With its 40.000 m2 and three buildings, B. Amsterdam is the biggest startup ecosystem in Europe — right where we feel our best.
