I wouldn’t say I like to bring people down; instead, I like to support them and lift them. However, sometimes I encounter people who, unfortunately, invest most of their energy into negativity. In particular — into making those around them miserable.

More often than not, I come across couples where one person is decent, and the other one is toxic, negative and insecure — and even controlling and abusive.

I shared my experience with a friend who’s a victim of domestic abuse. Sadly, his situation hasn’t changed for the best the last I talked to him. We aren’t really in touch anymore, so I won’t check how he’s doing.

I was happy to remove myself from a bad situation like that. It doesn’t change the fact that some individuals are ridiculously insecure, and women can sometimes be that way too. One of the reasons it happens is probably because of the horrible concepts we were raised with.

If you have an insecure girlfriend, you may relate to some of these. Or if you’re such a girlfriend, it may hit home too. These are behaviors I encountered from other females, but some of them can apply to men. I’m using a female as an example simply because I observed a girl behave this way.
