It’s crazy to think when I was 15 I thought I would have the husband, the kids, and a white picket fence by 22. Now here I am 26 years old still in school because I decided to switch career paths, single, and living with my parents trying to figure out what I want for myself in the future.
I know I want to get married and have children. For a long time, while I was in the deep trenches of dating and I was attracting one toxic man after another, I was getting extremely discouraged. I kept thinking to myself, maybe I’m meant to be single forever.
Then I realized most of my friends are also struggling with dating for the same reasons as me. We’ve reached a point where a lot of us girls are looking for stability and something serious. I know for myself I’m looking for something serious and long-term. However, it seems that men around 26–30 are still messing around and looking for hookups. I have seen this with men primarily on dating apps.
