Lately, grocery store shopping has become a harrowing experience. You pretty much have to sell a kidney to afford a bag of kidney beans.

Of course, no one is fooled by this price gouging. Recent examinations by the FTC found that grocery stores claiming decreased profits due to supply chain problems are fibbing. There are no supply chain problems. Grocery stores have jacked up food prices simply because they can.

Unfortunately, when you sell a product everyone needs, you can get away with overcharging customers. Obviously, everyone needs food.

Everyone needs love, too. Dating apps have also raised prices. Now, the basic monthly Hinge subscription costs $49.99.

When food prices rise, people experiencing poverty are hurt the most. Healthy eating is always more expensive.

Healthy dating will cost you more, too. Forget the monthly app fees. Finding love takes time—more time than a swipe right.

However, charging a king's ransom for a bunch of bananas or seeing that blurred image of your future…
