I once went on a date with a guy who admitted that he cheated on his wife because she wouldn't give him anal sex. So he went to prostitutes to scratch that itch.

His confession made me wonder — how many more men cheat because they are not getting their sexual fantasies fulfilled?

Well, a recent study on infidelity shows that he was the anomaly. Researchers found couples who never had anal sex were less likely to cheat. The researchers speculated that the lack of exploration reflected more conservative attitudes toward sex. And let's face it. Most people cheat in their imaginations before they actually cheat.

Now, grab a comfy chair. There were more gems in this study. And while previous studies have relied on self-reporting, this is the first study to use a decision tree to predict infidelity.

Researchers Matthew J. Vowels and Kristen P. Mark compiled their study using two sample sets totaling 1097 participants. Out of their first data set of married and cohabitating couples, 54% were straight, 21% were bisexual, 11% were gay, and 7% identified lesbian. In the second data…
