I think that we can all agree we’re increasingly hearing about quiet quitting to grasp the concept well enough to extrapolate to other areas than the workplace. As you all know, the concept emerged mainly regarding the workplace as a means to express the lack of engagement and passion in doing one’s work; however, as we will see in the following, it’s not restricted to it.

People have debated the concept long and wide, eventually splitting into two teams. Some argued against quiet quitting as a cheating mechanism, dishonest towards one's employer, while the other team defended its proponents on claims of legitimacy.
