Let me tell you about yesterday. It was one of those days when you wake up, and the world already feels like it’s sitting on your chest. You know what I’m talking about? Like, before my feet even hit the floor, I knew the day was coming for me.

First off, I woke up late. Not a little late — late late. I’m supposed to be at work by 9:00 a.m. But my alarm had the audacity to stay quiet (I forgot to set it), so I jumped up like I was running from a fire. I bolted to the bathroom and took the quickest shower of my life — no time for all the extras, just soap, rinse, and go. By the time I was out, my mirror was fogged up and I was already sweating again from rushing around. But I wasn’t about to let the day punk me.

I pulled on my clothes. My hair was all over the place, my shirt half inside out, and it took me 10 minutes to find my missing shoe. But I found it. Then, I slapped on some leggings, threw my hair into a bun, and stuffed my phone and a granola bar in my purse. I got a quick cup of coffee, then flew out the door.

By the time I got to work, my brain was already fried, and it wasn’t even 11:00 a.m. The workday turned out to be the worst circus with no ringmaster. Everybody and their mama suddenly had “urgent” requests…
