Be Not Burdened

Be love. Share love.

I have decided to stick with love.
Hate is too great a burden to bear.
~Martin Luther King, Jr.~

look at their faces
see the anger they bear
is this the reflection
of love shared?

their souls have become heavy
their hearts turned to stone

look at their hands
see their clinched fists
can they undo the damage
of the hate they insist?

their souls have become blackened
their hearts left unatoned

look deep within yourself
see the spark of the Divine
can you learn to forgive them
so all souls intertwine?

be not burdened by their hatred
send them love, don’t condone

look into the caverns of your heart
see your own moments of despair
can you teach them how to mend
so they too learn to care?

share with them your wisdom
we are all one, and never alone
