Planet versus plastic
She got up to leave,
when sipping from my plastic water bottle, I mumbled.
“Where to?”
“Somewhere more natural, dear”!!
Earth said!!
Wish the earth could do that!!
It’s the Earth Day today, and I’m thinking, for how long would we go on celebrating this day, and defying its message, just like the international women’s day!
Just in name!
In actual sense, it is the ‘absolute, uncontrolled authority’ of humanity over Earth, our planet and nature. Unlike Gaia, the powerful independent entity, the earth as a living, pulsating, independent subject, it seems to have no agency, being used, just as an object to satisfy human needs!
Humans, us, are the superior species; other forms of life — animals, plants, fishes, forests, rivers, oceans, mountains, the entire natural world — are there to serve us, and our ever-growing numbers and greed.
