Purple Parade
Celebrating Inclusivity
My first attempt at reading my own poetry to support inclusivity as Purple Parade celebrates its 10th year anniversary.

Dear Friend…
Don’t give up your race
Don’t slow down your pace
Pick yourself up and run again
The precursor to healing is pain
You are not alone
Can you see a billion souls
Flickering in the darkness
Everybody is crying
For a smooth passage
Some shatters
Some drowns in the darkness
A very few add brightness to the fading light
Be the one who rekindles the light of love
The unfailing human spirit
So my Friend
Hold your head high
And soar above the troubled waters
Let the world know that you are coming
A new force full of life
The invincible
Dear Friend
Don’t give up your race
Don’t slow down your pace
Pick yourself up and run again
For, healing comes after the pain
Like the rainbow after the rain.
