Starstruck
Poetry — never alone
Stars in our eyes,
For those that captivate us,
For what we are in awe of,
Who or what fascinates,
And enthralls us,
The way someone looks,
Or what one does,
Starstruck we become.
Starstruck sitting high on a hill,
With the whole sky full of stars,
Looking up,
Getting lost in their light,
A worship of sorts,
An admiration,
Being awestruck of creation,
Lost in heavenly bliss.
Then down the hill we trod,
The light behind,
We touch bottom and realize,
Only moments in the light matter,
The night only to make us rest,
Knowing the light of day,
Will return and the stars at night,
Like a promise to be there,
So we are never alone,
Changing us daily,
How we see things,
What matters and doesn’t,
Healing our deepest wounds,
Fixing our hearts to love,
Forgive and surrender,
To the beauty of light,
Forever nurtures us,
With its daily arrival.
