My family and I had plans to see the Titanic Exhibit, it’s traveling around the country and it seemed like a great way to spend a Saturday evening. We drove into the city, paying little attention to reports of a severe storm headed our way.

It’s so often just hype.

We got to the exhibit and enjoyed looking at the many artifacts salvaged from the wreckage on the ocean floor. Plates, cups, silverware, windows, chairs, diaries, jewelry. Mementos of the people who once walked the deck of Titanic, slept, ate, and lived there until it was all no more.

It was moving, fascinating and informative.

As we stepped outside the weather was still fine, we popped into a shop noticing the sky had a beautiful but somewhat unsettled appearance.

We found a place to eat dinner. While we were waiting I received some worried texts from my mom who had opted to stay home.

The storm is supposed to hit at 8 pm

A flood advisory is in effect

Thunder and lightning
