Extraordinary adventures during my vacations to different parts of the world have been encounters with wildlife!

A range of experiences — from the dance of dolphins in crystal clear waters to the breathtaking spectacle of tropical birds painting the sky with their vibrant plumage, or locking eyes with lions in their natural habitat.

You need not be a seasoned wildlife enthusiast to enjoy them, as I take you on a virtual safari of these majestic creatures.

To have close encounters with animals not only brings happiness, it’s a great stress reliever too. Increasing our understanding of animals and their behavior and being educational — giving insight into their world that we may otherwise not be aware of.

The praise-worthy thing is that hordes of animal welfare organizations worldwide work relentlessly to ensure that these beings are protected and taken care of.

Dolphins at the Atlantis Dubai

An amazing experience of meeting the most adorable creatures is at the Dolphins Bay, Atlantis Dubai.

To ensure a smooth and safe experience, all guidelines are followed, before guests are ushered in small groups into the waters to meet the playful dolphins. You are required to change into proper gear, followed by an introductory video.

Guides who help you interact and get familiar with the dolphins do an excellent job and deserve accolades !!

Watching these intelligent beings responding to their trainers, following instructions, and showing amusing antics and skills completely mesmerizes you.

Afterward, guests are allowed a delightful interaction with the dolphins and can stroke, hug, and kiss them on their noses.

Revel in a tete-a-tete with the doe-eyed kangaroos at the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary, Gold Coast Australia

Kangaroos as we know are the national animal of Australia and are mostly found here and in some other selected places.

Their habitat inside the protected sanctuary is a replica of their natural dwelling — huge, open grassy fields. As such they are comfortable and roam here freely.

Visitors can mingle with them, pet and feed them straight out of their hands. It’s safe to be near and feed these gentle, harmless beings and is by far the most enthralling experience.

Jurong Bird Park Singapore

The next fun activity on my list is the feeding sessions with the multi-colored birds at the Jurong Bird Park Singapore. You’ll find them in all possible rainbow colors — red, orange, yellow, blue, or green.

The chirpy birds flock around as soon as they see visitors with food bowls. Initially, you may feel a nervous excitement with the birds suddenly fluttering around and perching themselves on you, in any place that they fancy — hands, arms, shoulders, or head!!

Once you get acquainted with these unique birds pecking at their food, feeding them, and watching them fly around gives immense satisfaction and happiness.

This is a ticketed activity, funds from the same go for wildlife conservation. The Jurong park has many other things to do including bird shows, which are not to be missed.

Flamingo Show Bahamas

The Wildlife Conservation Center and Gardens in the capital of the Bahamas Nassau, has much more to offer than its fabulous collection of over 135 animals.

The lush tropical gardens and wildlife rescue and rehabilitation facility have done a tremendous job of saving and taking care of different animals.

The best part of this zoological park is the impressive marching flamingo show, where the beautiful Caribbean birds march in a parade on command.

Get entertained here by this bunch of adorable beings proudly displaying their skills to the cheering audience.

It is incredible to perceive the rapport between humans and animals. How quickly these intelligent beings learn different skills and respond is amazing.

It melted my heart!
