My Two Best Friends Voted for a Different Candidate Than Me
Guess what? We don’t hate each other!
It’s been two weeks since the election.
Whether the results are what you wanted or not, I’m sure we can all agree that this whole thing has pretty much divided our country beyond anything we thought possible. It seems like everywhere I go, someone is mad about something. I hear whispers from co-workers at work about the current political climate, almost like they are afraid to admit who they voted for that by doing so, they might alienate themselves.
I scroll through Facebook and see so much hate. I see hate between family members and people I’ve known have been friends for many, many years. They are saying cruel and pretty unforgivable things to one another. I’m sitting over here very flabbergasted.
Why are people alienating people who have genuinely loved and cared for them based on who they voted for in this election? In what world is that worth it?
There is an argument that it is worth standing up for your beliefs and trying to change the minds of those within your inner circle so that their vote will count…
