Weekly State of The Pad: Fourth Week of April 2022: Almost May Edition!
Welcome to the ninth in our series of Weekly State of the Pad articles produced by Co-Founder Conor (me!). This article mainly covers the runup to our launch on BSC and some continued progress we have made on Hedera’s smart contracts. As usual, we couldn’t do it without our superstar development team! I am so proud to be able to work with such an amazing group of individuals!
Launching HederaStarter
I will begin this article with the disclaimer that will remain at the top of every article going forward until we launch, what chain we are deploying on and the reasoning behind it! We are currently, at the time of writing, preparing for an initial deployment on BSC (Binance Smart Chain) in May with the TGE (token generation event) occurring on BSC and then — as we see the progress necessary for a full deployment of HederaStarter and all of our smart contracts and their dependencies on Hedera Hashgraph (not a blockchain, i.e. not based on blocks) — we will migrate to Hedera mainnet and really get the show going on native Hedera utilizing their new EVM!

Overall Weekly Status
The FE is virtually finished, all major user paths are practically finished now we are focusing development efforts on cross-browser compatibility. Our backend team is clearing out some of the last remaining bugs present on the IDO pages, and we are progressing internally on some interesting ideas we have with Hedera NFTs and launching them! We have arrived at the end game now, so all the remaining efforts are focused on polishing our diamond as much as possible!
F(rontend)orward Unto Dawn!
As I mentioned in the intro, nearly all of the user stories — effectively what actions or desires a user might have when interacting with our dApp — have been finalized and any additional adjustments to these stories would be icing on the cake at this point. Current focus for the FE is on cross-browser compatibility for Firefox and Safari. Continued BE integration work is everpresent, and we should have a brand new landing page being deployed pretty soon as well!
To the Back(end) of the Line!
We had some slight issues with our BE as it was down for a few days, but it is back up now and healthy allowing us to continue debugging all of the possible IDO states. We are also working on the general IDO flow, purchasing tokens and reserving them etc, and how each of those different states affect the BE. Once that is cleared, we can move on to working out some of the edge cases we have identified. Effectively the BE is feature complete; we are now working on last minute findings for our runup to the launch.
Contracts for Hire
Our team is exploring the potentiality of launching a NFT launchpad that exists on Hedera while we have the main project IDO aspect of HederaStarter initially operating on BSC. One of our core developers also drafted an extremely helpful document that goes over the differences between Hedera’s token service (HTS) and the ERC standards and where Hedera currently lacks capabilities to have parity with Ethereum tokens (hopefully it will be there in the coming future!). So within the realm of Hedera smart contracts we are now experimenting and seeing what we could potentially deploy, the solution may not be the most ideal but, given the current limitations of Hedera, the product is more than acceptable.
Key Takeaways From the Fourth Week of April
Now that we have marked down the final date adjustment for the release of HederaStarter on the marketing side we can potentially approach the idea of a private and public beta of the platform prior to the TGE and the subsequent release of the $HSTART tokens. I think the item we are all very excited about is this NFT launchpad that we are exploring here behind the scenes. It would require an adjustment to the structure of our overall BE. However we feel that the community is in support of us deploying a NFT launchpad product, as well, alongside our primary token IDO product. Unlike the token IDO product this NFT launchpad could feasibly work on Hedera mainnet! (Albeit a bit jerry-rigged!)
Ladies and gentlemen, we are very much looking to be Hedera’s premiere launchpad that is actually live (and works!)!
