Saturday saw many non-scoutees have strong performances in the Charlotte Kickoff Night.

Vance RB Kalen Clark helped keep his team around with his big performance

The first game of the day between Vance and West Meck saw some strong performance. New West Meck starting quarterback Preston Brown was impressive, showing impressive dual threat ability and a strong arm. At receiver, Tyler Barnes and Jaquan Ebron both had strong games. The West Meck defensive line got after the Vance quarterbacks the entire day, lead by Tyrell Reid, who had a nice day. Linebacker Carlos Means was all over the field on Saturday, making tackle after tackle. For Vance, underrated running back Kalen Clark had a great performance, as did his backup, Markilius Williams. On defense, the star came to play. Gerald Nathan Jr. had two fumble recoveries while finishing with at least a half a dozen tackles. Damir Faison was all over the field, showing his incredible athleticism from his defensive end spot.

Nickel Fields(2) went off in his first varsity game as a freshman to get his career off to a great start

The second game of the day showcased some younger talent. For Providence Day, 2020 DE Jacolbe Cowan was a force off the edge the entire afternoon. All of the attention on Rooks allowed receivers Chad Ayers and Nick Highum to have big games. Quarterback Cody Cater had a strong opening game, while Osi Ekwonu starred on both sides of the ball. Freshman Nickel Fields had the best day of anyone, leading the Chargers in rushing, while also returning an interception 60 yards for a touchdown. For Olympic, WR Jamik Edmunds had a big game, taking 69 and 65 yard catches to the house on consecutive plays. Quarterback Dylan Earney settled in after throwing the pick six and made some strong throws. Running back Damon Rouse ran hard and helped keep the Trojans around the entire game.

Moose Muhammad broke out in the first game of his Myers Park career as part of a 31–0 rout.

In the nightcap, powerhouse Myers Park got some great performances, while only one Charlotte Country Day player really stood out. For Myers Park, 2020 Providence Day transfer Moose Muhammad (the son of former Carolina Panthers and Chicago Bears receiver Mushin Muhammad) began his Mustang career with a great game, headlined by his second quarter touchdown grab. A fellow newcomer, Khamal Howard (East Meck transfer), went off to win play of the game honors, while reaching the endzone twice. Elijah Bowick didn’t get a ton of opportunities, but made the most of the ones he got. Trey Bly looked strong in coverage and almost pulled in a leaping interception. Crawford White had a strong game off the edge. For Country Day, Twan Flip Jr. was fantastic until he was injured in the fourth quarter.

Overall, it was a great day of football, in which many players stepped up to have strong performances.
