Press release

The Finnish social network Heimo has launched this summer its social media for life challenges in the Philippines. Already tens of thousands of Filipinos has used Heimo and shared their untellable stories on www.heimo.co.

- Filipinos are very engaged and community driven users. They have strong will to help and connect with others who have experienced the same challenges in their life, says Jarno Alastalo, the Big Man (CEO) of Heimo.

Heimo is an online community where peers help each other. Anyone can find someone who has gone through the same challenges in their life.

The Philippines is one of the most active social media countries in the world: over 40 million Filipinos use social media services average 3,7 hours per each day.* But why the experienced European social media developers are boosting their new service in the Philippines?

- We launched first our service in more than 20 countries and based on the user data, most of the users come from the Philippines.

Jari “Jaffa” Jaanto, who has been selected as the best programmer in Finland (a country of Santa Claus and that has produced Angry Birds, Clash of Clans, Nokia, Linux and MySQL), is on a mission with his co-founder partner Jarno Alastalo, an experienced social media platform maker, to help people to help each others.

- Heimo is not going to be the next Facebook, Twitter or WhatsApp. Heimo has unique approach to provide the best possible platform to people to tell the stories that they are not able to tell in any other social media.

Heimo’s CEO Jarno explains that people can tell their untellable stories anonymously in the community without judgement. Stories that they are not able to tell in any other social media services or they don’t have anyone to tell. And for now it has been the secret recipe for the success in the Asia.

- One of our community member from the Philippines explains perfectly what it’s all about on Heimo: “I am super blessed to have Heimo as my everyday friend. It inspires me to exercise my thoughts and throw away all the garbage that my mind has been keeping all these years. Writing is such a powerful tool to unleash the negativity.”
