Troy at any non-HDL event…also all HDL events…also in slack.

Troy is have a historic 2019 and these power rankings are dedicated to him.

For those still not paying attention, this is a chart that shows how much better Troy’s team is than yours in two different ways — actually and optimally.

ÜWC WATCH

One new wrinkle to these Power Rankings is the ÜWC Watch. Here we will check in on that 6th playoff spot. Troy, having the most points, would be the ÜWC if he weren’t undefeated. Right there are four teams (BPou, Marino, Sarlo, and Billy) tied with the 5th best record at 2–3. BPou currently holds the tiebreaker making him 5th seed. Marino has the most points over all the other teams making him 6th seed. But Head is less than 4 points back and Sarlo less than 16.

12 — MIKE ALTBAUM (1–4, 12th AP, 12th OP, -1)

It’s fitting we begin with Troy’s brother, the man who scored less than half the points Troy did this week. Once a co-owner with his younger brother, Mike now lives in the shadow cast by Troy. Good news for Mike is looking at four first round picks and potentially 2 in the top half.

11 — STEVE CALHOUN (1–4, 8th AP, 11th OP, -1)

Seeing Calhoun all the way down here and (spoiler alert!) Troy all the way up there really makes you wonder how things would have been different if Calhoun paid attention to deadlines.

10 — IAN CROSBY (0–5, 11th AP, 10th OP, -2)

Our last remaining winless team is also looking at four first round picks and is currently in the lead for the 1.01. Having the RB2, Dalvin Cook, would probably hurt the tank but thankfully Ian traded Cook to Troy before the season started.

9 — ANDREW BARTELL (1–4, 10th AP, 7th OP, +3)

Head had himself a week. His 222.1 points were his highest of the year by more than 30 points. It was also 44.8 points less than Troy’s weekly average.

Less because they are in contention and more because their weekly ceiling / floor is all over the place

8 — BILLY DAVIS (2–3, 7th AP, 9th OP +1)

Billy is the only primary owner younger than Troy. He is not the only primary owner getting walloped by Troy on a weekly basis. Tyreek Hill’s return could mean a move up the ranks and toward the ÜWC.

7 — DAN MARINO (2–3, 6th AP, 6th OP, E)

A multi-week climb up the ranks stops here for Marino. What doesn’t stop is Troy’s reign at the top. But the people’s champ looks to make another mark on the league by being the first ÜWC.

6 — NICK SARLO (2–3, 9th AP, 8th OP, E)

How bad a week did Sarlo have? Well if you add his AP and his OP for the week he still had 30 less points than Troy. I still think Sarlo’s roster is deeper than most of the teams around his and thus he maintains his 6th spot in the PR.

5 — CHRIS BLACK (4–1, 5th AP, 5th OP, E)

Chris has a higher floor than the teams behind him, but his ceiling isn’t necessarily higher. Maybe we’ll see more trades out of Chris now that the momentum is moving in that direction after trading Andy Dalton for the 3.12. (It’s Troy’s pick.)

Good teams looking at Troy’s team…

4 — DAVE FALCONE (5–0, 3rd AP, 4th OP, -2)

Probably all 3 of these teams could just be tied for “Not Troy.” But also, despite Falcone outscoring me in 3 of the last 4 weeks like he mentioned, he now sits behind me in Optimal Points and the gap in Actual Points is the narrowest it has been. Falcone does have the second highest projected score this week. He’s also projected to lose by 24 points. How the pigeon has fallen.

3 — BRETT POULTON (0–5, 2nd AP, 2nd OP, -1)

Imagine drafting Troy in your division instead of Chris. Long ago are the days of playing tummy sticks with Troy. Despite still being second in both AP and OP, he’s 5th in both over the last three weeks.

2 — DAVE HALLAHAN (5–0, 4th AP, 3rd OP, +2)

The GM of the year is 💤 🚶 his way to the playoffs. 🍰 after 🍰 matchup is keeping him in that sugar coma. Week 10 will be the first time he has to apply himself.

Hope you’re happy.

1 — TROY ALTBAUM (5–0, 1st AP, 1st OP, E)

I guess I could be emotionally insecure like BPou and point out that the highest score ever recorded in HDL history is unsustainable? Troy’s team is on another planet right now. And if you were hoping to sneak one win by him, Week 12 is the only bye week where more than two of his starters are on bye. It would be an epic failure like none we’ve ever seen in HDL history if Troy doesn’t get the mug.
