NFL MOCK DRAFT
Mel Kiper sucks. We do not. That’s the main difference between his, and really everyone else’s, mock draft and ours. This one is built with only the finest of formulas put together by only the brightest of minds. The only thing more beautiful than this mock draft are the coronavirus test kits. But one thing that is true of both is if you want one, you can have one. And since you want a mock draft, here it is.
1.01 Cincinnati Bengals — Joe Burrow, QB, LSU (Drafted by Head)
The consensus 1.01 in real football and a boost to the Bengals offense. Troy has been outspoken with his predication for the 2020 Bengals. But if Joe Burrow lives up to the billing — with weapons like Joe Mixon, AJ Green, and Tyler Boyd — the Bengals could compete for a Wild Card berth. That may be a stretch, but adding Burrow should lift the fantasy assets around him.
1.02 Washington Redskins — Chase Young, DE, OSU (Drafted by Troy)
1.03 Detroit Lions — Tua Tagovailoa, QB, Alabama (Drafted by Falcone)
This feels like a good bet for a trade down spot, but Falcone is too stupid to think of that. Tua may be the pick at 3 and the Lions may draft a QB, but I don’t think it’ll be the Lions who take Tua at 3.
1.04 New York Giants — Tristan Wirfs, OL, Iowa (Drafted by BPou)
Two highly drafted pieces in that backfield need to be protected. Wirfs would be a nice pick up for the G-men.
1.05 Miami Dolphins — Justin Herbet, QB, Oregon (Drafted by Hallahan)
Perhaps Miami trades up for Tua? But if they have high enough grades on Herbet, Love, or even Hurts perhaps they stay put at 5 and take one of those QBs or even trade down. Either way, Miami seems like a lock to draft a QB. He won’t have much to work with early on though.
1.06 LA Chargers — Jederick Wils, OL, Alabama (Drafted by Head)
Another potential trade up and/or QB spot, but Wils will protect whoever is back there (even if it’s TyGod).
1.07 Carolina Panthers — Jeff Okudah, CB, OSU (Drafted by Troy)
1.08 Arizona Cardinals — Mekhi Becton, OL, Louisville (Drafted by Falcone)
1.09 Jacksonville Jaguars — Isaiah Simmons, LB/S, Clemson (Drafted by BPou)
1.10 Cleveland Browns — Andrew Thomas, OL, Georgia (Drafted by Hallahan)
OL was the biggest weakness of the 2019 Browns.
1.11 New York Jets — Ceedee Lamb, WR, Oklahoma (Drafted by Head)
He instantly becomes one of, it not the, top passing option for young Sam Darnold.
1.12 Las Vegas Raiders — Jerry Jeudy, WR, Alabama (Drafted by Troy)
Marcus Mariota needs some weapons to throw to. This will help.
1.13 San Francisco 49ers — Javon Kinlaw, DT, South Carolina (Drafted by Falcone)
1.14 Tampa Bay Buccaneers — K’Lavon Chaisson, DE, LSU (Drafted by BPOU)
With re-signing Suh and JPP, I could see another OT come off the board to help keep TB12 off his ass.
1.15 Denver Broncos — Henry Ruggs, WR, Alabama (Drafted by Hallahan)
Ruggs will be a better real WR than fantasy asset, but if Denver does go WR this is the best case scenario for Courtland Sutton’s value. Ruggs will open up the field without demanding too big a target share.
1.16 Atlanta Falcons — Zack Baun, DE, Wisconsin (Drafted by Head)
Atlanta could start 11 first-rounders on offense. Zack Baun plays defense.
1.17 Dallas Cowboys — Derrick Brown, DT, Auburn (Drafted by Troy)
Now we all know what to root against.
1.18 Miami Dolphins — Xavier McKinney, S, Alabama (Drafted by Falcone)
Minkah replacement.
1.19 Las Vegas Radiers — Grant Delpit, S, LSU (Drafted by BPou)
1.20 — Jacksonville Jaguars — Jordan Love, QB, Utah State (Drafted by Head)
1.21 Philadelphia Eagles — Denzel Mims, WR, Baylor (Drafted by Baylor)
Denzel Mims stock really started to rise at the Senior Bowl and then he shined (shone?) at the combine with a 96th percentile speed score and 90th percentile burst score.
1.22 Minnesota Vikings — CJ Henderson, CB, Florida (Drafted by Troy)
Trae Waynes is gone. Xavier Rhodes is gone. CJ Henderson SZN.
1.23 New England Patriots — AJ Epenesa, DE, Iowa (Drafted by Falcone)
1.24 New Orleans Saints — Trevon Diggs, CB, Alabama (Drafted by BPou)
1.25 Minnesota Vikings — Justin Jefferson, WR, LSU (Drafted by Hallahan)
Tajae Sharpe, known replacement of Stefon Diggs, probably won’t be celebrating this pick.
1.26 Miami Dolphins — Josh Jones, OT, Houston (Drafted by Head)
1.27 Seattle Seahawks — Yetur Gross-Matos, DE, PSU (Drafted by Troy)
This is a good pick. There are rumors of SEA going with a RB. I’m hoping for that.
1.28 Balitmore Ravens — Kenneth Murray, LB, Oklahoma (Drafted by Falcone)
1.29 Tennessee Titans — Jeff Gladney, CB, TCU (Drafted by BPou)
1.30 Green Bay Packers — Neville Gallimore, DT, Oklahoma (Drafted by Hallahan)
1.31 San Francisco 49ers — Patrick Queen, LB, LSU (Drafted by Head)
1.32 Kansas City Chiefs — Deandre Swift, RB, Georgia (Drafted by Troy)
Swift is one of the top RB in this class. But he’s not the top back. This landing spot would be great for any RB though.
