Team Heist recently decided to take an impromptu field trip over to the new Habitat by Honestbee. Here’s what went down on a Thursday afternoon.
A beautiful welcome at Habitat by Honestbee. Even though most moss walls need little to no maintenance, there are actually lots of benefits to installing them. They increase air quality, reduce noise and stress. Really appreciated the biophilic touch!
These colourful badges caught our eyes! We like how they were pinned to a Japanese style kimono and each staff had their own selection. Brings an element of personalisation while showing us the groceries selection.
Grocery shopping is revolutionised when the focus is shifted to alleviating pain points instead. Taking user needs such as “I hope I don’t screw up the steak when I cook it later” and “I wished I could just take and drink this right now” into consideration enhances the user experience on a new level.
Question of the day: is this an airport business class lounge or a grocery store? Most people would guess the former. We observe that in this day and age, aesthetics overlap in mixed-use spaces.
Buying artwork while grocery shopping: art becoming accessible — or a commodity?
A great way to get educate people about urban farming. Would definitely love to see how this project would develop to encourage people to start planting at home and incorporate such habits into their daily lives.
Analogous Inspiration: Hand-free water dispensers are usually found in the medical industry for sanitary purposes, it is interesting to see this design applied in a store setting.
Although not new, we liked the playfulness of this tap — tap it with your foot to activate the water, increasing awareness and interaction with the water. Wonder if the physical action with one’s foot will eventually build a water conservation habit.
Right outside the exit, this watermelon see saw had our team jump on to give it a try. Brings back memories of picnics and lawns, carefree summers spent playing as kids which is a nice anomaly in the urban jungle we were in.
