Mario Kart meets Pikmin meets The Sims in this interactive, user-created world that transforms any car passenger’s ordinary commute into an adventure– holoride is a corner of the metaverse for people on the open road.

With real-time data synchronization and location-based accuracy, this XR-powered world has been named TIME Magazine’s “100 Best Inventions of 2019,” on top of winning the SXSW Pitch in “Entertainment, Gaming & Content”, Best of CES 2019, and a much-sought after mention in “STARTUP AUTOBAHN by Plug and Play” including a global innovation award in that scope.

To say the least, 2021 has been a busy year for the company. On top of having a successful $12M Series A raise in April, holoride also launched the RIDE token as the first ever project on Elrond’s Maiar Launchpad this past November. Building on the hype since then, much excitement and anticipation has been surrounding holoride, which is touted by many to be the future of in-vehicle driving experiences.

The RIDE token is an integral part of the holoride platform that will be used as the main mechanism to connect vehicle manufacturers, content creators, brands, and passengers. Value is captured in every mile of the holoride-designed driving experience. Blockchain is being used to build the platform and offer users a fair platform for driving data that incorporates publicly-verifiable value distribution. In the win-win partnership with Elrond’s carbon-neutral blockchain, holoride can offer a way for cars to be rapidly integrated on-chain at a low cost without a barrier to user-experience.

Some of the topics we’ll cover today include:

  • What is holoride?
  • How does holoride Work?
  • holoride’s Creator Space
  • holoride’s Team
  • holoride’s Advisory Board
  • holoride’s Investors

What is holoride?

Through the use of Elastic Content, which links real-time drive data with VR, holoride aims to be a totally immersive, future home for commuting. holoride combines storytelling and technology to unlock a modern form of entertainment that pushes the limits of immersion. The company envisions the technology it’s creating as the future of in-ride experiences. It seeks to use the valuable time we spend commuting as a way for us to become more productive, smarter and happier.

How Does holoride Work?

A primary goal of holoride is to create a sustainable content and data economy that encourages in-car content through monetization of data. holoride offers passengers a decentralized, blockchain-based media platform that enables a user-directed creator environment.

holoride’s platform connects car makers, content creators, and passengers with a range of services that will enhance the future of in-vehicle experiences.

Some of the features of holoride include:

  • Applications: holoride applications run on personal devices of the passengers in the vehicle. These apps can be used for authentication, browsing, or restrictions (e.g., geo-fencing).
  • Elastic SDK: Design and deliver experiences using existing game engines designed closely with top gaming studios.
  • Vehicle Localization: Capture the vehicle’s data such as location, motion, and route. Think of it as media-enhanced autonomous driving software.

holoride Creator Space

All of the above tools needed to lead you on your development journey in holoride are located in the Creator Space. This space includes a fully-customizable environment where you can create digital assets in an entirely elastic world- modifiable from animations to colors. The sample files help you stay creative.

holoride’s team has also created something called Experience Tools designed throughout the development process. Some of the Experience Tools include 2D Stages, Collision Avoidance, Modular Agency, and Ride Recording:

  • 2D stages: any 2D content can be integrated into holoride.
  • Collision Avoidance: these VR tools make created assets avoid collision in the immersive world.
  • Modular agency: helps modularity that relates to data like vehicle organization– helps ensure certain events get activated as we head toward them and not when those objects are behind.
  • Ride Recording: experience recording (e.g., in cities or the Autobahn). Technical Recordings: help you test experience against complex road scenarios like winding roads.

holoride’s Team

holoride has robust technology and staff that includes Audi’s former Head of Digital Business, Nils Wollny, and a former Audi algorithm developer for autonomous driving, Daniel Profendiner.
