Public traveling is already an issue but the process of claiming compensation has not been good either.

Brief

Commuting is the big part of the livelihood in this era. People are continuously traveling from one place to another to get their work done or travel to their office or universities. We keep hearing about how cumbersome this traveling can be if one takes a roadway. As more and more private vehicles are getting on the road, the more difficult it gets to navigate through this web. Because of this people are now moving towards public transportations such as railways, public buses and even trams in some cities. But this mode of transportation has its own set of a problem which can occur due to any variance in the infrastructure or daily time table. Government of the UK has established a law where people can claim the funds due to an issue from the operator side such as train delayed, the train got canceled, etc. But this comes with its own set of problems as filling those long forms are not welcomed by users and it also very confusing. To tackle the problem of users and assisting them in the process of claiming compensation a solution came under the name Traindco.

Problem

Filling lengthy forms for getting a refund and doing that for different rail operators repeatedly is a very tedious task. People very tired of going through the same process and over the course of time again and again. Traindco wanted to create a single platform for users where they can fill a single form which won’t take more than 3-minutes and it would help them get the compensations for those losses that occurred to them because of travel companies.

Challenges

People are so much on a mobile phone these days that it was required to get this service from the web platform and take into the palm of users. iPhone market share has been growing exponentially in the UK as it grew from 14% in 2011 to 43% in 2018. So the challenge that came up was creating an easy to use application for iOS platform which can leverage the processing power of the existing system without needing to invest in reinventing the system for smaller devices.

Solution

Our team worked as technology partners of Traindco wherein we brought our expertise of mobile first philosophy on the table to help them build solutions. We were not just restricted to the work of iOS app development but we took the initiative of understanding the behavior of their users so that feedback can be incorporated into the application. This helped us a lot in creating a better UX in terms of mobile applications and also this improved the satisfaction index on their web platform. Our team had created a few mockups to help them with the process of collecting users data with fewer questions so that they are not doing some banal work but instead they are enjoying the process. Their goal was to have user spend less time on their application so if people spend less time in claiming their compensations they are enjoying the process. Our clean UX and UI on iOS platform helped them with this problem and helped them acquired more customer which eventually brought them more business.
