Hello Alpha’s commitment to evidence-based treatment

Virtual medicine has been a boon in providing increased access to treatment for underserved populations. This is one of the primary reasons for the existence of Hello Alpha: to support shockingly underserved women’s healthcare in the US. By connecting to a provider in a virtual setting, you can:

  • Miss less time at work
  • Have fewer disruptions to your daily life, including caring for others
  • Remove the time and travel expenses around in-person care
  • Receive quality health care faster
  • Reduce your potential exposure to contagious illnesses like COVID-19

At Hello Alpha we always start with prioritizing the safety of our patients. With each visit, we ask ourselves, “What is the evidence-based, clinically appropriate treatment for our individual patient?” Then we deliver that care with compassion, dedication and rigor through our technology platform.

This holds true for our approach to prescriptions as well.

We believe in building partnerships with our patients. Rather than simply writing a prescription and sending you on your way, your dedicated Hello Alpha provider will collaborate with you as your long-term health care advocate, help you manage health issues and navigate complex decisions, and empower you with the knowledge and guidance you need to make positive changes. Our clinical protocols require Alpha providers to consider health conditions, preferences, and clinical guidelines. When it comes to prescribing medication, even if a patient requests something different, Alpha providers recommend the treatment they believe to be the most appropriate.

Much like your in-person doctor, Hello Alpha is not a pharmacy, although we can and will prescribe appropriate medications when needed. To help patients access treatment as seamlessly as possible, we work with third-party mail order pharmacy partners who are appropriately licensed and authorized to deliver prescription medication by mail. However, we will always transfer prescriptions to the pharmacy of your choice upon request, subject to applicable law.

Alpha providers never prescribe controlled substances requiring an in-person examination under federal or state law.

In some cases, your insurance may require prior authorization before covering a specific prescription medication. In keeping with our commitment to helping quarterback your healthcare, Hello Alpha will work to support prior authorization requests, however we cannot be responsible for decisions of insurance plans. In some cases, even with an approval for prior authorization, your insurance coverage may require a copay for medication. You are always welcome to pay directly (with cash) for your prescriptions if you like. Please know that if you pay directly and/or do not obtain prior authorization, your ability to file a claim later with your insurance may be impacted or waived. The terms of your insurance plan are the best place to find complete details on this.

It’s becoming more common for manufacturers to offer savings cards for certain prescription medications. These cards can be very helpful and if a card is available, it will be accessible through the medication/manufacturer’s website. Please read the terms and conditions of any such card carefully and realize the terms and conditions may be subject to change. Hello Alpha does not offer these cards directly and therefore we can not be responsible for the terms of any savings card.

Prescription medicine can be an important part of managing your health. Hello Alpha is privileged to care for you in a holistic manner — taking all aspects of your health and lifestyle into consideration and we continually strive to provide the safest, highest quality, evidence-based care, including prescriptions.
