It’s no surprise that the vast majority of romantic movies end with a kiss scene between the two main protagonists. Whatever happens next is bound to fall into the Drama category. Coincidence? Lazy writing? I don’t think so!
Love is just the starting point.
Growing up, I was fed Disney dreams. I never realized that the end goal was maintaining the relationship, not merely finding the Prince.
After a certain number of pretenders , I came to the conclusion that it’s fairly easy for an averagely decent-looking girl to get a man who is hot/rich/kind/funny (or whatever characteristic you’re into, but please strike through the less desirable mentions to just pick one, you didn’t win the lottery). Keeping the dude in the medium or long run is the real challenge.
Love is the basis for a relationship to grow, but it’s only the seed. Your sweet potential is quickly going to dry up if you don’t add water or forget a good dose of fertilizer.
