Being involved with a narcissist is no picnic. These people are clever at manipulating people and most of us don’t even realize what we’ve gotten into until we’re knee-deep in the midst of it. How can you tell if a narcissist is messing with your head?
They Use You to Achieve Their Goals
This is so prevalent. You meet this wonderful person who seems to understand you. They act interested in you and your life, and you truly think they may be the dream person you always wanted. Then the truth comes out.
They need you for something. You are thinking they’re connecting with you because they want to be with you, but unfortunately, that’s not the real truth. They always have an ulterior motive whenever they do anything because it’s always about them.
Recognize the pattern. They will only be calling you when they need something. By needing something, I mean they will call you for help with one of their projects, or when they need a ride to the airport, or simply because they’re bored and they need you to give them your love and adoration (narcissistic supply.)
