Is Being Unvaccinated a Deal Breaker in Dating?
I didn’t find out until after we shared a first kiss.
I was enamoured from the moment we met at the bar: he was funny, open-minded, tattooed, sexy accent, and he asked interesting questions.
We ordered pints and sat in a dark corner and got to know one another. It was the first date in a while where I was feeling that “instinct connection” we hear so much about.
After hours, we leaned in closer and kissed…we made out like we were teenagers again until the bartender interrupted and said they were closing shop.
As we walked back to the station, I mentioned how I was supposed to see my brother the next day, but his girlfriend had covid. She barely had symptoms since she was vaccinated.
“You’re jabbed, right?” I asked.
“No. I’m not,” he said.
There was silence.
And then: “Is that a problem?”
I was taken aback. I actually hadn’t come across someone unvaccinated yet in my circle of friends or in the dating world.
“Kind of?” I said. “Do you mind me asking why?”
He told me he just didn’t get how they could create a vaccine so quickly (which is not true). And he hadn’t had any…
