My Childhood and the Spanish Cherry flower
I cried. It was my favorite tree.
My memories of the 2nd and 3rd grades are still vivid.
I miss those days the most.
It was a 2-kilometer walk from my home to my school.
While returning home from school, I rested under the Spanish cherry tree in front of the Temple whenever I was alone.
It was a huge tree. That Spanish cherry tree was the biggest tree I had ever seen at that time.
Resting under that tree was one of my favorite activities. Its huge branch used to be my favorite place to climb and sometimes I slept on it. In addition to eating the Spanish cherry fruit, I used to collect its flowers.
There is nothing like the fragrance of this flower. I don’t know any words to describe this smell, I have no idea how to describe it.
One thing I want to highlight about my favorite flowers is that I find the Spinach Cherry flower (Mimusops elengi, bullet wood), Shiuli flower (Night-flowering Jasmine), and Tuberose (Rajanigandha) to be my top three.
As soon as I finished 3rd grade, I went to a different school, then I went to boarding school.
It was my habit to visit the tree and temple whenever I was at home.
One day, I visited the temple to see my favorite Spanish cherry tree. Sadly, it wasn’t there. I heard the temple committee had cut the tree down for construction.
I cried.
It was my favorite tree.
I shared my childhood memories with this tree.
The tree was my only childhood friend with whom I spent so much time.
Since then, I have no longer visited the temple, I miss my friend, and I can’t watch the empty space anymore.
