No More Broke Dating for This 40-Year-Old Lady — Bye Bye Drizzlers
Sorry, I don’t want to wait till 60 to realize I made the worst mistake of my life.
Listen, if you haven’t caught up with how dating works these days, let me help you out.
Dating isn’t what it used to be — and as a 40-year-old single mom who’s not looking for commitments, just good company and good energy, I’ve seen it all.
Here’s the truth: if a man’s trying to get laid, he better come with some sprinkle sprinkle or at least a little drizzle drizzle. But lately? These guys aren’t even bringing mist.
And honestly, I get it. Inflation’s sky high, the cost of living is ridiculous, and most people can barely save a dime. I’m not mad at men for watching their wallets — I’m doing the same thing.
I’m working hard now so I can retire at 50, so I’m not about to throw money around recklessly either. But what blows my mind is the expectation that they can show up broke and get laid.
Like… how are you broke and bold at the same time?
In the last five months, I’ve gone on dates with three different men — ages 45, 48, and 52. All of them older, all of them should’ve known better, but clearly age doesn’t guarantee emotional maturity.
