At least 93% of Filipinos reported that they feel loved, making the Philippines ranked number 1 in this category. It’s no wonder why Filipinos are fond of love stories and enjoy talking about topics relating to love, courtships, and relationships.

As a matter of fact, the most popular film genre in the Philippines is drama and romance, and even the highest-grossing Philippine film is a romantic movie. Any foreign romance movies would be welcomed with open arms.

Filipinos have come up with a lot of ways to experience love and express love, and one of those is saying the right words that’ll make you surge with several emotions all at once.

If you are someone who wants to date a Filipina, you should learn these Filipino love phrases so you can express your true feelings to her. Nothing is as attractive as learning someone’s native language just to express love.

Here are the phrases you’d want to say to the Filipina that you like.

1. May gusto ako sa iyo — I have a crush on you

Perhaps you are still not ready to say that you love her, so saying this would be a good start. In English, this may sound like you simply have a crush on her, but the phrase has a deeper meaning in Filipino. It means that you profoundly adore the person.

2. Iniibig Kita — I love you

If you are not sure about your feelings towards her, then you should not be careless in saying these words. These words are only said when you are ready to start a serious relationship with someone.

3. Kailangan kita — I need you

These words are how you express your yearning for the person you love. This doesn’t not only speak about how much you love someone, it means that you want to be with them. It’s as if you are saying you can’t survive life without them.

4. Ikaw lang ang aking minamahal — It’s only you who I love

We all need some reassurance from our significant others. You just can’t shower them with all the “I love you”, you need to let them know that there is no one else that you love. Nothing beats this line if you want to reassure the person that you love.

5. Pagmamahal mo ang nagpabago sa akin- Your love changed me

Nothing is more romantic than knowing that a person has changed for the better all because of your love. When someone is willing to be a better person it means that they are not self-centered and what they are feeling is true. After all, there should be no room for self-centeredness in love.

6. Habang buhay kitang mamahalin — I will love you forever

This is a common phrase used by couples during the declaration of their wedding vows. This means that you have the intention of loving a person until your last breath, and nothing should stop you from loving them.

7. Nandito ako palagi para alagaan ka — I am always here to take care of you

It’s easy to say that you love a person but it’s even better to tell someone that you will take care of them until the end. This is a way to reassure the person that you will make sure they are safe and that you will never abandon them.

Say the right words!

You are probably excited to say all the Tagalog phrases above, but make sure that you say them at the right time and properly. It’s also best that you try to learn how they are pronounced.

If you think that you are ready, then take the love shot!
