I wrote an article and tried to explain Confucius’ quote from my perspective. One reader left a provocative comment, arguing that we cannot be more different.

I thought about his argument and replied. I figured we are the same while still very different.

How can that be? We are all the same at the fundamental level. But the deeper we dive, the more differences show up.

You can witness that in the phylogenetic trees of different species and organisms on this planet. Humans belong to the mammals’ group.

According to its main criteria, all mammals are the same. When we continue to the human species level, we humans are the same.

We have two legs, two arms, a head, cardiovascular system. In the following levels below, we can already discern males, females, white, black, Latino, ethnic groups, LGBTx…
