Some wounds heal with time, fading into distant memories that no longer hold power over us.

Then there are the ones that linger — the heartbreaks that quietly shape the way we love, trust, and open our hearts again. They don’t scream for attention, but they whisper in moments of vulnerability, reminding us of the pain we thought we had left behind.

Fred and Kelvin were once my safe havens, men who made me believe in love’s magic. But when their love faded, they left behind scars that, no matter how much I tried to move on, still echoed in the background of my heart.

First was Fred, the man who promised me forever.

Fred was the kind of man who made a woman believe in fairy tales. He held my hand like it was the most precious thing he possessed, kissed my forehead every morning, and made me laugh even on my worst days.

He was charming in a way that made you feel like the luckiest woman in the world.

He knew exactly what to say, how to hold me just right, how to make me believe that I was safe with him.

He was protective — always making sure I got home safely, always checking in…
