Today, I’m opening up invites to Hello, Remote Life, an online community for remote workers.

I’m increasingly interested in the idea of microcommunities, especially in the context of chat groups or forums. You know, like we did in the 2000s. Twitter has been okay for this, but I’m interested in Discord as a potential alternative for these kind of communities.

I’ve been working remotely for a few years, and I love it. I think it’s probably the single most positive shift in my career so far. I wanted to create a community for all remote workers (and those who want to become remote workers). It’s not a job board (but there’s a #jobs channel), and it’s not a freelancing site. It’s just a place for remote workers and telecommuters to get together and chat.

Signing up is free — I might eventually institute a small monthly fee to cover expenses, but for now, joining is as simple as providing your name and email at helloremote.life. See you there!
