Voltaire, the company

Our team of 11 is made up of eight nationalities spread around the world

Most of the Voltaire team is remote, with team members living in Russia, Italy, The US and the UK. We have a team of diverse nationality, background and skills. But perhaps most and more importantly, our team is diverse in thought.

The way we think about providing a great product experience for our users

A great product can enhance a user’s ability to achieve their goal.

We want to make the most user-friendly and transparent exchange that has ever existed.

We built and launched a cryptocurrency exchange in five months

This is one of the things we are most proud of. It took an incredible amount of hard work and commitment for the team to build a functional product from the ground up, often where there wasn’t a path well trodden before, the end result has been extraordinary.

We don’t buy ads

All of Voltaire’s users came organically. This is important not just because we haven’t and don’t wish to spend money on ads, but also because all of our users have given us feedback to inform our product roadmap. This allows us to make Voltaire a product that people love to use.

Another reason for launching Voltaire is to bring a level of transparency and professionalism to an industry that, in our opinion, has been lacking somewhat.

Voltaire, the product

We have one pair right now, but some exciting ones coming soon

We want to see the best form of combined technology and currency win. We’ve seen that as Bitcoin Cash and as a result decided to make our base exchange pair BCH.

In the next 3 months, you’ll see Voltaire introduce Ethereum (ETH), Dogecoin (DOGE), Litecoin (LTC) and Bitcoin SV (BSV). We’ve engineered our architecture in such a way that we can start introducing new pairs rapidly.

HandCash partnership

Voltaire is the first exchange in the world to allow a withdrawal to an address other than an awkward hash. While this was quite small and easy to implement, we felt this was needed to bring an enhanced UX to crypto. We’re not aware of any exchange doing this before. With the recent hardfork, and HandCash choosing the SV chain, this is paused until mid-Dec when we add a BSV pair.

We have some of the lowest fees in the industry, and they’ll continue to get cheaper

To trade 1 BTC for BCH on Voltaire, the total transaction (deposit, trade, withdrawal) will cost you $4. That’s >90% cheaper than Coinbase.

We also commit to making our trading fees lower when we hit 200 BTC trading volume for 30 consecutive days, and cheaper again when we hit 400 BTC.
