To our landlords and tenants,

We started Rentalutions in 2012 to solve a problem that we experienced. As busy professionals, and part-time landlords, we didn’t have access to the same tools and resources as large, institutional real estate investors. We set out to level the playing field by building functional tools that solved real-world problems.

Since launching Rentalutions, more than 200,000 landlords and tenants from 11,000 zip codes across the US have joined us. We couldn’t have done it without your support, and we can’t express how much your trust and loyalty mean to us.

Over the years, we’ve had the privilege of speaking with many of you about the role Rentalutions plays in your life. Through these conversations, we’ve realized that our team and our technology provide a lot more than just a set of functional tools that ease the pain of managing rental units.

Yes, the technology is important. But, when combined with our in-depth educational content and dedicated customer support, we have inadvertently done a lot more. We’ve improved the rental experience for both landlords and tenants.

Not only are rental tasks (like paying rent) easier than ever, but our tools and guidance are fostering a community of responsible landlords and trustworthy tenants. As founders, it’s extremely rewarding for us to see people connect and improve their lives on our platform.

The way we see it, the entire rental market is more than just individual landlord-tenant relationships. Everyone is interconnected. We aim to strengthen these connections and foster meaningful, collaborative relationships between landlords and tenants by making sure they do the right things at the right time. In the future, we’ll roll out additional features that further improve communication, provide intelligent recommendations, and match responsible landlords with responsible tenants.

There are more than 100 million landlords and renters in the US today. We believe they deserve access to technology that makes renting more approachable.

To better reflect who we are, how we help you, and our evolving vision for the industry, we’ve decided that our brand and company identity must evolve, too.

We are excited to reveal that Rentalutions is now Avail.

The name Avail accurately reflects who we are and what we strive to do. The definition of Avail is “to help or benefit,” which perfectly suits our overarching goal of benefitting landlords and tenants. We also believe the name expresses a feeling of hope — to be financially independent, to feel at home, and to improve lives. As a side benefit, it’s a lot easier to say and spell than Rentalutions!

Today, we’re revealing an updated logo and colors, which you’ll see at avail.co. We will also begin redirecting all traffic from rentalutions.com to avail.co. From here, you can log into your same landlord or tenant account as you always have. For now, nothing else is changing.

Pricing, features, and in-app functionality (listings, applications, leases, payments) will all remain the same in both landlords’ and tenants’ accounts. As always, information and data on our platform is secure.

We know change can be daunting and overwhelming. To help smooth the transition, we’re answering common questions at the end of this letter.

While the updates being released today are mostly cosmetic, they are an important first step as we enter this new era as a company. The changes will allow us to move forward with more significant upgrades we have planned for both landlords and tenants in the months ahead.

We’re proud of what we’ve accomplished so far and we know you’ll be just as thrilled as we are for everything else that’s planned. If you have any questions that we don’t cover below, please reach out to us at support@rentalutions.com or support@avail.co.

Sincerely,
Ryan Coon and Laurence Jankelow
Co-Founders

Early next week, when you visit rentalutions.com, you’ll be automatically redirected to avail.co. Once there, you can log in as usual. You’ll notice the name, color, and logo will change within your account.

Where can I find your new site?

Early next week, you can access Avail at avail.co. We’ll send an email as soon as it’s live.

Was the company bought? Is there a new owner?

No, the decision to update our identity was a company-wide decision to better express who we are and our growing vision for the rental industry. You’ll be interacting with the same product and employees as before.

What does this mean for my current account?

Everything in your account is the same. If you go to Rentalutions.com, you’ll be redirected to Avail.co. Once there, you can log in the same way you always have to access your same exact account.

Are both landlords and tenants being notified of this change?

Yes, our entire community of landlords and tenants received this email and letter today.

Is all my information secure?

Yes, all information and data on our platform is still secure. In fact, no information is being transferred during the rebrand process — the color and logos on the page will simply be updated.

No, you’ll be able to use your account the way you always have.

What will happen to my pending transactions (payments, leases)?

There are no immediate changes to the features available within your account. Although nothing is changing today, we have a large list of enhancements planned for the next several months. These updates will improve your rental experience even more.

Are you still catered toward the independent landlord and their tenants?

Yes, we’re still catered to the independent landlord with less than 10 units and their tenants.

What does the new logo mean?

Our new logo represents multiple things. It can be seen as a helpful ladder, a rooftop, or even the letter “A.” It signifies upward motion and a strong support system.

Why did you change your colors? What’s the significance of the new colors?

We chose navy blue as our main color because it’s a strong, trustworthy color. Our neutral palette, which includes blue, yellow, and turquoise has both the calming effect of cool colors and the invigorating effect of warm colors.
