If you’re a regular reader of our updates, you’ll notice that this month’s update format is a little different.

This is due to Malaysia’s tech team being focused on implementing a major partnership (to be announced very soon) and Thailand’s integrated marketing launch event.

Malaysia

AUM resumes growth as gold price reaches 6-year high.

If you’ve been using HelloGold mobile app to protect your savings in gold ( if you haven’t already, you should!), chances are you have been buying gold anywhere between RM160 and RM175 per gram over the past two years.

Well done!

Gold price increased steadily and at a rapid pace over May and June, reaching an all-time high of RM190 on the 25th of June. It has since maintained itself within the mid RM180s, marking more than a 10% increase since the beginning of May.

With the advent of news regarding trade wars, regional tensions and negative interest rates, there is no reason to believe that this price surge in the yellow metal will stop.

Heck, even central banks around the world are betting on it!

With the surge of gold prices during the first weeks, manyHelloGold customers sold the gold they had accumulated over the past 12–24 months.n influx of new users with high buy levels offset the sales.

Sub RM200 seems a very attractive price to kickstart the habit of saving in gold.

Zero Admin Fee promo

HelloGold launched a new promo on 18th June to reward new and existing users who choose the Smart way to save in gold. New subscribers to the Smartsaver program who continuously fund their savings plan with a minimum of RM120 monthly will receive a 6-month rebate on administrative fees at the end of the period.

June 5th marked the end of the fasting month of Ramadan for more than a billion Muslims across the world. In the spirit of festivities, occasion, the HelloGold team sent their best Selamat Hari Raya to all its Muslim customers.

HelloGold launch event and partnership announcement

HelloGold hosted a press conference to mark the launch of HelloGold in Thailand and also announced the first partnership with Central Group on the 6th of June.

During the event, Robin and HelloGold’s Thailand Country Head Siripat Patrangul were joined by Kamol Tananitaporn, Head of Strategic Partnership of The One Central Co., Ltd to announce the launch of a partnership between both companies.

Buy gold with The 1 loyalty point

CENTRAL Group is a leader of the retail industry in Thailand, with more than 30 malls and hundreds of departments stores across the country. It also runs the most popular Loyalty program in the country, ‘The 1Card’ and counts more than 15 million membership! The 1 is the loyalty program which members are able to collect points through every purchase from business units under CENTRAL Group. From now on, ‘The 1Card’ affiliates will be able to use the loyalty points and redeem points to gold on the HelloGold app.

The integrated marketing campaign kick-off

The public relations launch event was supported with a full-scale mass communications vehicle from digital advertising to a full communities outreach both online and offline. If you are in Thailand, expect to see us in your favourite social app and on digital news outlets! You can also share our YouTube channel with all your friends in Thailand!

So far the reception has been promising, with a sharp rise in registration and gold purchases. There are more major enhancements to the user experience planned for Thailand in the months to come, and AUM is expected to rise sharply in response to all the work being done to penetrate the Thai market.

GOLDX distribution

HGF will distribute rewards to HGT holders on 13th July 2019. The total rewards allocation is 4.092 GOLDX.
