’Tis the season for New Year’s resolutions. Love ’em or hate ’em, we’ve rounded up our top resolutions for the new year from moms just like you — motherhood-related and beyond.

  1. Be kinder to myself when my patience runs short with my son.
  2. Try NOT to lose the baby weight because I’m loving these curves.
  3. Up my funny game and laugh more at those #momlife moments. Baby throws up all over fresh-outta-the-dryer laundry? Forget the diapers in the car while baby has a blowout in the mall? You can’t make this shit up—so might as well laugh because it’s too funny!
  4. Schedule a monthly date with my kiddo to get some one-on-one time without distraction.
  5. Plan for a vacation…for myself, by myself. Even if it’s just to the next town over for a weekend of sleeping, reading, hiking and drinking — I love alone time so I’m going to make it happen.
  6. Practice healthier technology use so I can set a good example for my son. To help me with that, I want to come up with two to three things I can do when I need a baby mental break that aren’t scrolling Facebook and tape those things somewhere I see regularly.
  7. Take time to write either a card or simply a text to another mom once a week to just say hi and see how they are.
  8. Make it to library story time at least once in 2018.
  9. Ditch my working mom guilt. I like to work and I have to work to pay the bills, and that’s all there is to it.
  10. Resolve to not have any resolutions, because I refuse to add one more thing to my to-do list.
