Branding is more than visual designs, it’s about a concept, woven throughout every aspect of your business. So let’s see what these logos are hiding from us.

Point up up and away

You might be wondering, what’s so special about a simple text logo. Look beyond the letters, we suggest taking notice of the arrow in the white space between the letters E and X. It symbolises the precision and speed in delivery of the company. So much symbolism. This proves that even in the simplest of ideas, there’s a lot of thought put in.

Under the sun

We might not surprise you by saying that you should notice the cyclist on a bike made of the letter O U and R. But what you might not have known is that the yellow circle represents the sun and the fact that the race only happens during the day.

Proud as a peacock

This is a logo of many meanings. Our guess is you can see the peacock, but do you have any idea why it’s there? In the 60s, just as about coloured television was being introduced, NBC set an objective to persuade TV owners to buy themselves the newest kind of television. That’s why they went of the idiom “proud as a peacock” to market their network in order to demonstrate proudness of the fact that technology in their industry is improving. The first original logo included 11 feathers, but they were cut down to 6 in order to represent the main sic divisions of the company.

Pin-it

OK, so let’s break down the name. It has two parts Pin-terest, the idea is that you pin your interest. Take a look at the logo. Doesn’t it remind you of a pushpin? We think that Pinterest has put a lot of effort into their branding. It always works great when a company has a clearly defined image.

An-igital

The meaning behind this one remained uncovered until recently. The VAIO logo is the result of expert professionals having fun. The logo integrates the amazing features of the products of the brand, in this case the fact that they combine both analog and digital technology. The V and A letters represent an analog wave, while the I and O letters are made to look like the numbers 1 and 0 as a nod the the binary code of digital signal.

Forbidden

We can’t help, but mention one of the logos you probably see everywhere you turn. And, boy, do we have a story about it. Did you know the concept of this logo dates back all the way to the Bible. That’s right, this apple is synonymous with the forbidden apple from the Bible.

If you haven’t heard of the story, it goes like this: The creation myth in the Bible reads that Adam and Eve were the first man and woman that God created. They were living in the Garden of Eden and were permitted everything, excet to eat from the apple tree of knowledge. However, Eve was persuaded by a snake to take a bite of the apple. For this action, God punished Adam and Eve and banished them from the Garden of Eden.

The apple bitten by Eve became known as the forbidden apple and the apple logo signifies just that. It’s a symbol of knowledge.

Sharing is caring

Chips are a very social food that you share with your friends at parties and fun gatherings. But how do you demonstrate that in branding? Tostitos does an amazing job at portraying this cozy friendly feel of the food by hiding stick figures in the print. Take a look at the Ts of the logo, don’t they look like two people enjoying chips and salsa. It’s a very subtle nod to the whole idea of the brand.
