Have you ever heard from your client that there’s no need to invest in research, strategy, user testing or even proper prototyping? 🤨

It happened to me a lot.

People who are not trained in UX/UI (often) tend not to realise the power of UX 💪

It is our role as designers to educate them, teach them the value of a good design process.

But how to do that?

It’s tricky.

You’re often talking to business people, who seems to speak in a completely different language 🙊

In the beginning, it may look like that. But design is more and more about business and less about pixels.

It takes time to adjust. So, to give you a starting point, I decided to share a few of my techniques for talking about design to business! 👌

Remember that…

You are selling the design to business.

Use the language they understand. Talk the business importance & value. Don’t focus on pixels. Focus on experiences!

Did you know?

5.000.000

The number of apps available in App Store & Google Play alone. Not to mention countless web apps…

Did you know?

180.000+

New apps are released to the App Store & Play Store monthly. Monthly!

That’s a lot of competitors…

Did you know?

1 out of 4

Is used only once*.

*And that doesn’t mean that 3 out of 4 are successful. In this group, some Apps’s been used twice too…

Did you know?

92%

Customers will leave a brand they love after 2–3 negative experiences.

People expect good experiences.

86% of buyers are willing to pay more for a great customer experience*.

*According to research from PWC

People are used to good design.

People are using well designed products on a daily basis. People get used to good design. People demand good design.

  • Every product strive to get attention in a competitive environment
  • Even if the product is not commercial (ngo etc) , it compete with commercial products.
  • People who use it are used to good design. They demand good experiences’

So how do you plan to complete on the experience-centered market without investing in your product UX design?
