So we are beginning! Report #1
HelpCoin project entered the active phase from November 1, 2018. For four months we worked on all fronts, which we would like to share with you in this article.
Documentation
We are constantly working on the main project document (White Paper). We try to bring documentation in accordance with our goals and your wishes. The latest version is now at the stage of translation, and soon we will present it, but here we will share the main points of the new edition:
- The concept of the platform is brought to a higher level. Now this is not just an industry solution for charity, but really a platform that brings together a large number of people. Its main goal is: useful evolution of charity.
- HelpCoin is a decentralized charity coin that goes the way of evolution from a motivator of charitable donations to a source of continuous funding for charity.
- The distribution of new coins is now absolutely free! 85% of all coins will be received by users and only 15% will remain at the platform to ensure operating expenses.
Development
During this time we have written a lot of functionality for the platform:
- User personal area
- Accrual and withdrawal of HelpCoin for subscribing to news
- Automatic Proof of Stake HelpCoin distribution
A part of related functions was also developed to create the rest of the necessary functionality. But we made a mistake in the initial choice of the base framework for our platform, which led to a significant slowdown in development and failures in the platform security.
Today we rewrite everything from scratch on the basis of the modern and popular framework Laravel. At the same time, we decided to go even further and continue to develop the project as an Open Source solution. Now you can see the activity of our work and join the development.
Infrastructure
Keeping charitable funds on the platform accounts imposes on us a huge responsibility for their safety. But taking into account the fact that the platform is a WEB application, we have applied a number of technical solutions of an infrastructural nature in order to maximally reliably protect the platform from various kinds of attacks:
- Functional nodes of the platform are separate elements of the infrastructure, the probability of hacking one of them does not provide access to others.
- Integration nodes with the Stellar blockchain network are on the local network and cannot be attacked from the Internet.
- All funds are transferred using a multi-signature. In addition, each signer is an autonomous infrastructure node operating within the local network. For key transactions, there are hidden signers that are located outside the core infrastructure..
- All platform nodes are reserved and geographically distributed within a failover geo-distributed cluster using cloud solutions based on the Kubernetes cluster..

Community
Charity is based on people. Therefore, we, like no one else, understand the value of being present on all social platforms that will help everyone to better understand the project’s activities, as well as what the project seeks. PoS reward
For three months, we spent three rewards for community members who support the project by hold $HLP in their Stellar wallets.
People learn about the project, join its support, and we reward them for a small but significant contribution to the development of the project.
This is particularly evident in the dynamics of the spread of rewards:
- First PoS: 10.000 HLP distributed among 73 holders; transaction
- Second PoS: 100.000 HLP distributed among 102 holders; transaction 1, transaction 2
- Third PoS: 200.000 HLP distributed among 273 holders. transaction 1, transaction 2, transaction 3
