Ramen is a well-known representative of Japanese food. You can eat ramen anywhere in Japan, of course, but I am sure that everyone knows that ramen has become popular in other countries as well. I checked #ramen on Instagram, and there were around 12.5M posts! This number is larger than the hashtag #sandwich!

Ramen is one of my favorite dishes, and I eat 3–4 bowls of ramen a week. (Don’t ask me about the results of my health checkup.)
Many of HENNGE’s employees are also ramen lovers. Perhaps you are reading this article because you are interested in Ramen (or HENNGE).

Since I was given the opportunity to write the Advent calendar, I wanted to introduce recommended ramen restaurants that are easily accessible from the office for those who want to join HENNGE but are concerned about lunch around the office, or for employees who have not been to work recently and do not know where the best places to eat are.

Note: They are introduced to include a large number of the author’s preferences. I am not responsible if you end up not liking the restaurant mentioned.

“Manchiken shibuya” (中華そば 満鶏軒 渋谷店)

From office : 1min
Recommended ramen : Shio(塩そば)

Probably the closest ramen restaurant to the office, where you can eat ramen almost without walking.
The duck-based soup and thin noodles go well together. The duck cha-shu is also moist and delicious. I recommend Shio, but Soy sauce and Tsukemen are also good.
You may have to wait in line due to the small number of seats.

“Art Mashi-ya(アートマサシヤ)”

From office : 1min
Recommended ramen : Umakuchi ramen(旨口ラーメン)

At a quick glance, this ramen shop looks like a coffee shop.
The ramen is made with 100% natural ingredients, so eating it may make you healthier! (maybe)The soup has a gentle and soothing taste. So if you like a strong flavor, tell them to “Alpha-de(アルファで)” when you give them a ticket. It will be more flavorful.

“Usagi”(うさぎ)

From office : 3min
Recommended ramen : Uma-kara Tan-tan(旨辛坦々麺)

The restaurant has many fans within HENNGE. It is famous for its tantanmen, and you can choose the level of spiciness. For those who like numbing spiciness, I recommend “level 2 spiciness”. You can feel the numbing sensation as if you have eaten Szechuan cuisine, and the spiciness is addictive. Soy sauce is also delicious, so even if you don’t like spicy food, it’s okay.
The store is not very spacious, so you may have to wait in line for a while.

Chu-ka menten Kiraku(中華麺店 喜楽)

From office : 8min
Recommended ramen: Bean sprouts ramen(もやし麺)

A ramen shop that has been in Shibuya for a long time. It is a bit of a walk from the office, so it might be better to stop by on your way home. Also, it may be difficult to enter the restaurant for the first time because of its old appearance.
The stir-fried bean sprouts and chives are fragrant, and the burnt onions make the soup thick and deep. The noodles are thick and satisfying.

Find your favorite ramen!

I have selected a few ramen stores that are close to our office, but according to ©Gurunavi, there are about 170 ramen restaurants in the Shibuya area.

If you like ramen and haven’t been to work lately, or are thinking about joining HENNGE, these locations would be lovely!
