The Scariest Thing About Life is Attachment to the Results
I don’t know about you, but I used to be terrified of life. I was afraid of making decisions in case I made the wrong one, and I was afraid of taking risks in case I failed. It sounds silly when I think about it now, but at the time it felt very real to me.
What I didn’t realize then was that the scariest thing about life isn’t making decisions or taking risks; it’s attachment to the results. You see, when we’re attached to the results, we’re giving up our power to create our own reality. We’re saying that we’re not good enough or strong enough to handle whatever life throws at us. We’re limiting ourselves by thinking that we can only be happy if everything goes our way.
We live in a society that is driven by results. We want to see results in our careers, our fitness goals, and our relationships. When we’re constantly chasing after something, we miss out on the beauty of the journey. Life becomes a series of checkmarks on a to-do list instead of an adventure. It’s important to detach from the need for specific results and live in the present moment.
