Her Outlette’s “get it, got it, good” for fall

Fall symbolizes so much! It’s a season of change, transition, and preparation as the temperatures drop and we kiss the dog days of summer goodbye. It’s a season of balance; during autumn the day and night are the same length. Perfect balance meets restoration in the season.

We all have the opportunity to reset and start a new. Her Outlette is our new project and we thought as a collective group of friends the best way to introduce ourselves would be by sharing our most coveted must haves and do’s for the fall. We’ve got y’all.

Monet Victoria Westchester County, New York

I love, love, love fall. I’m a fall baby. Shoutout to all the Scorpios, this one is for you! I literally sit and obsess over transitioning into different colors for my fall wardrobe and makeup. I go overboard, scouring my favorite stores for all things in the burgundy color family. My rebirth during this season involves completely switching my look into earth tones, which for some reason, makes me feel more centered subconsciously. I tend to indulge in all things fall from my pumpkin spice lattes to my pumpkin flavored ales. I currently work in finance as an credit analyst in Midtown, Manhattan. I maintain my balance of city life and suburbia by living just 30 minutes away from the big city.

This is one of my fall staples that I cannot live without. Nars’ Audacious Lipstick in Deborah has been my go to fall lipstick for the past couple of years. It’s a beautiful blend of brown and red that compliments most shades. It’s my friends’ fan favorite when borrowing a lipstick. Nars is definitely a more expensive brand but a little goes a long way with this particular product. The top is also magnetic so you don’t have to worry about it sliding off and ruining your bag! That has happened to me too many times.

Delmarshae Walker Brooklyn, New York

Connecting technology platforms to help people save thousands of dollars on travel would pretty much sum up my work life; feel free to think of me as a modern day super hero. Outside of work, you can catch me at a nearby hip coffee shop in BK or strolling down the busy streets of Soho trying to find the latest fashion pieces to prepare for Fall. If I’m not working or shopping, we’d probably cross paths at the airport since I travel every other week for work or pleasure (benefits of working remotely). I live a pretty hectic life, it’s important for me to keep my life planned out so I can proactively “seize the day”.

I keep a planner very close in order to manage it all. Since the very moment I came into contact with the Panda Planner I’ve been able to make all things happen. The Panda Planner’s motto is “We all deserve to thrive” and it’s a huge part of my success. This planner allows me to take more control of the day to day tasks by making my work/life balance more organized. I was consistently overwhelmed by work and my travel schedule. This planner has helped me reclaim my freedom by creating a system of tasks to tackle while also enjoying the fine things in life; and the best part is, the planner provides sections to manage your work, personal goals, fitness and spiritual goals.

Jasmine Mitchell Atlanta, Georgia

As a creative working in Atlanta, I’m always looking for inspiration in my surroundings. The beginning of fall brings out the best of both worlds for me. Even though the leaves are changing, we still get some amazing summer-like weather, which means even more rooftop turn ups with beautiful reds, oranges, and yellows everywhere. It’s just something about the aesthetic of the season that makes everything look richer, from the clothes to the social gatherings. I can definitely say fall is my favorite time of year.

Plane tickets are definitely my fall must have. For my friends, fall kicks off birthday season. From Labor Day onward, I’ll be celebrating at least one birthday a month (including mine) until April. Since we all live in different cities, this means I need to stay up on my flight deals so I can join the various celebrations. My favorite travel website that’s a total game changer is Airfordable. This website allows you to book flights to any destination on a layaway-like payment plan. On top of all that, the founder and CEO is a black woman! Hash. Tag. Black. Girl. Magic.

Kellé Whitney Washington D.C.

D.C. PR specialist by day and fashion obsessed consumer (of all things) by night. Prepping for comfort during the colder season is a top priority for me! It may not be full on winter yet, but, if I’m uncomfortable (i.e., COLD AF) I won’t be productive. If I’m not productive my work suffers, and if my work suffers I’ll have less time to entertain you with my wit and humor on this blog!

Oversized sweaters and cardigans. They don’t call it sweater weather for nothing. Stocking up on sweaters and cardigans this time a year is a must for me! But not just any ole thing. I need a sweater that can easily blend into my work attire, without looking “way too much” when paired with my casual weekend wear. Pretty little thing, Ann Taylor, and Nordstrom are my go to places. I also follow a few influencers like @Blakevond on Instagram for inspiration to stay warm and cute.

Melia Watson (Meliabia) Washington D.C.

Work hard play harder? Im a free spirited people lover who will be pretty much down for anything, after I get off work. I love the thrill and live for experiences not things. I believe the world has way more to offer than happy hour and brunch, but that doesn’t stop me from either. I live for the moment, enjoy the process, and protect my space. I’m Melia; the not so wild child.

I love a good Haunted Trail. My go to for the fall season is the Field of Screams. Every year my friends and I come together for this horror-filled experience. We drive to the middle of nowhere and allow other humans to chase us through pumpkin patches and cornfields with chainsaws. This is a fall essential experience for me because it means that Halloween is near!!!

RiKaleigh Johnson (RikkieJ) Chicago, Illinois

Fun is my favorite past time and the world is my playground. I’m just a small town girl in a big city, trying to balance work, love, and fun. The beach is my happy place, but the city has my heart. Fall brings a new season and a reminder that I am far away from the sunny paradise that is home (Florida). Despite this, I love fall in Chicago because God’s greatness and beauty can be seen in each leaf that changes its color and felt in each cool breeze. A new season brings a reminder that each day is a new opportunity to grow and change, I hope that something I write can help you grow into the beautifully imperfect human God has created you to be. And remember, just smile.

Flowing florals is my fall must have. Fall in Chicago means plenty of breeze and a preview of the coming winter. A flowing floral dress or jumper paired with a little jacket or hat allows me to hold on to my memories of home and the fleeting summer while transitioning into the weather ahead. I love walking through the city with my dress flowing in the wind and my jacket pulled tight. I know I am only supposed to say one, but I also have to shot out, my black brim hat. I love it for fall because it can take any outfit and give it a polished finish. Whether it is worn with jeans, dresses, or sweaters, my hat takes any basic fit and gives it a trendy and fun look…it also saves me on those days when my hair isn’t cooperating. You can find these fall styles at Asos, one of my fave retailers.

Whether it’s preparing for a night out or planning and organizing for a trip we’ve got you covered! Her Outlette is here to provide the tips for navigating through all things. I hope all our faves have inspired a potential look or trip for your upcoming rebirth season.

The team at Her Outlette wishes you all many adventures and great times for the fall season. May it be filled with memories to come with good friends and don’t forget to lette it all out this fall!
