I know we always see on Instagram and other social media platforms where people are saying flip $100 into $5K …sounds legit. Or, they’re selling verified badges, the new shit. That is so small scale compared to the shit white people are able to do. I watched the FYRE documentaries, yes both Netflix and Hulu. It got my head in a spin. I mean, this Billy McFarland was able to con millions and millions of dollars out of people…more than three times. Meanwhile in America, African-Americans as well as Latinos are only approved about 43% of the time for a simple credit card, let alone a $3 million loan.
As I watched this documentary, they mentioned two other names that stood out to me, Anna Delvey and Elizabeth Holmes.
Anna Delvey
This lady is poppin’ and honestly #goals, according to my research. I mean, the chick had stamina. She is also known as the “Soho Grifter”, accused of conning NYC socialites. Long story short, she is CURRENTLY being held at Rikers Island for international fraudulent activity. It started with her moving to a lavish hotel in Manhattan that cost $400 a night. Plus, everywhere she went she was tipping with $100 bills. She ended up scamming over $275,000 at 27 years old. Again, #Goals!!! This does not include the multiple wire transfers she was applying for, ranging from $25–45 MILLION!!! Yah girl is ruthless. I’m proud of her, but you know, #errybodyblack. (Full Story)
Elizabeth Holmes
Known for her fraudulent blood testing company, “Theranos”, which at its peak was worth about $9 billion. Holmes had the idea that you could get all of your blood test results done with just a couple drops from the fingertip and didn’t need that whole vial that we give when we go to the doctor’s office. What started as a great idea, (Isn’t this what we always say?) turned into an elaborate fraud scandal. She and her (then) boyfriend face nine counts of wire fraud and two counts of conspiracy, to keep things simple. They sold this idea to investors, all the way to the likes of CVS, knowing very well that the shit don’t work like that. (Full Story)
I’m not here to give the full run down on white scammers, I chose these three specific individuals because they shouted them out in the FYRE documentaries. I am more interested in getting into how black/brown people could never pull this shit off. Look at my dog JT from City Girls, who is currently serving time for fraud, aggravated fraud at that!!! But they sealed that deal ASAP!!! I don’t appreciate that they took no time. Meanwhile, white men are out here chanting and charging and getting more money.
