Ten Tips to Get That Body Tight for HBCU Homecoming Season

Hello All! If you’re anything like me, as fall rolls in you’re getting back into hibernation/Netflix and chill mode.

While that is all fine and dandy, Homecoming season is right around the corner!!!! WE HAVE TEN DAYS PEOPLE!!!!

I am not fitness or health expert, but here are ten exercises to get you where you want to be in the next ten days!!!!

1. Squats

Squats get that booty right! That booty. That big ol…. This is one of the best exercises to get that booty tooted for homecoming festivities and make your old college crush say, “Dang, she moved on to be successful AND she’s kind. PLUS, she has a great ass. She must squat or something! I should respectfully buy her a blue Long Island from Top Flite tonight.”

I especially love squats because you can do them anywhere!!!

2. Opposite V’s

(This is an ab workout) Okay, stay with me. Lay on your back. Put your hands over you head. NOT IN THE AIR. BEHINNNNNDDDD your head. Now take your right hand and left foot, then meet in the middle. Go back down. Next, left hand and right foot, then meet in the middle. Keep everything as straight as possible throughout entire workout. Alternate back and forth for 45 seconds with as many as you can do. DON’T STAAHHHPPPPP. Do this three times a day for the next ten days. Maybe you won’t lose much or have abs but you will feel like you do, and well, confidence is the real key.

3. Twisted Lunge

Get two dumbbells (on the lighter side, like a 5 piece) and put them in your hands. Put your right arm up in the air and your right foot back. Next, take the dumbbell and come down towards your left foot with a lunge and your right knee to the ground, then come back up. Do this for 45 seconds on each side.

4. Tricep Presses

Feeling good????? Next, stand up with the dumbbells in your hands and extend your arms straight above your head. Bend your arms to have the dumbbells behind your head. Keep going. Keep going. 45 seconds people.

5. Calf Raises

I know y’all have seen Meagan Good’s body. She said the way she makes her booty look so great is CALF RAISES. Do them so them calves and that ass will be looking OFFICIAL when you’re walking in your heels to the Carpe Diem party!!! If you want to make them super legit, use your dumbbells (Or whatever is heavy) while doing them.

6. Power Punches

Do 40 on each side. Remember the one professor who made you graduate a year late? Or the bartender at Top Flite pretending he doesn’t see you? Act like you’re squaring up with them and punch forward with each hand. One foot back. I like to do it to music because it really gets me going!

7. Planks

You watch television, right? For a thirty minute episode do 10 planks for one minute each. Have a 1.5 minute rest in between, then take 5 minutes to bitch and complain. (You’re welcome.) Keep your butt down and squeeze your core, per what other people say. It might feel like you’re having a seizure, but you do what you gotta do!!!

8. PUSH UPPPPSSS

Yep they suck. They suck so hard. Push through. They still suck. PUSHHHHH UPPPPP!!!! Do as many of these a day as you can. I’ll start with a smooth 100 a day. Get those arms right so when you wave hello to people you haven’t seen in 10 years, the bottom isn’t still moving when you stop waving. These will help your core get right, just in case you want that old thing back this weekend. And they will also lift your tits, because let’s face it, we are pushing 30!!!

9. Plank Jacks

Remember jumping jacks? Well start in a plank now do your legs like you are doing a jumping jack. Similar to cat dog — → plank jack!!!! Doing five of these for one minute each session is going to get you where you want to be, and make you feel like you’re really working it!

10. Love Yourself

The most important workout anybody in the world can do is one that works that brain. Look in the mirror and tell yourself how amazing you are, how you are destined for greatness, and manifest exactly how your homecoming will go. Manifest and meditate exactly how this homecoming season will treat you. Visualize what you want to get out of this homecoming. Believe in your confidence and know that no matter what, you are the most amazing version of you right now. In every moment, in every second you are beautiful.
